This week we introduced Gemini 1.5, a next-generation AI model that delivers dramatically enhanced performance and a breakthrough in long-context understanding. Starting with Gemini 1.5 Pro, a limited group of developers and enterprise customers will be able to experiment with a longer context window for better understanding and reasoning about vast amounts of information.

Gemini 1.5 Pro has the longest context window of any large-scale foundation AI model to date. That means it can take in vast amounts of information in one go — including 1 hour of video, 11 hours of audio, codebases with over 30,000 lines of code or over 700,000 words. For instance, when given a 44-minute silent Buster Keaton film, it was able to find small details in the film and understand plot points.
